Comprehensive architectural metalwork and urban furniture for ADA University’s new Faculty of Architecture & Design (in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, Italy)
ADA University’s campus expansion for the new Faculty of Architecture & Design—developed in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano (Italy)—required a coherent system of large and small outdoor elements that support circulation, study, and public life. IDEA engineered and delivered the “Poem House” structure, a custom “Trellis” pergola, and twelve “La-Defense Slim” pergolas, along with pedestrian bridges and flagpoles. The scope also included custom wooden seating families integrated with concrete: linear and circular benches (including a tree-surround), large wooden platforms, and site-specific pieces that tie together faculty buildings and open spaces.
All metalwork was manufactured in galvanized steel with durable powder coating, while all timber elements used glue-laminated wood treated with exterior impregnation for longevity. The campus was furnished with a full set of urban furniture, including benches (“Dafne,” “Plain,” “Riva,” “Olympic,” “Bellevue” parametric bench, “Julienne” curved benches), “Viva Double” picnic tables, “Occhio” litter bins, “Edge” drinking fountains, “Deep” bike racks, and “Collezione” wooden pergolas—creating a unified palette of custom pergolas, seating, and amenities that support intensive daily use.
A technically consistent kit of architectural metalwork and furniture turned a complex brief into a clear, durable campus environment ready for students, staff, and visitors.
